Technical Visit to Resifluxo: Engineering and Circularity

On 12 May, Resifluxo’s Famalicão site welcomed a group of second-year students from the Master’s in Environmental Engineering programme at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP).

The initiative took place as part of the course module ‘Solid Waste and Gas Treatment Technologies’, under the supervision of Professor Joana Maia Dias.

The students had the opportunity to see the practical application of circularity at first hand, observing the entire process of plastic waste recovery right through to its transformation into recycled profiles under the WUUD brand.

This visit is yet another example that reinforces Resifluxo’s commitment to society. In this case, it contributes to the students’ practical training, enabling them to bridge the gap between theoretical models of sustainability and the operational reality of a waste recovery facility, opening doors to future collaborations and academic projects.
